Day 3 |
Map is not to scale !

Another day of rolling countryside, along fields and vineyards until we reach Logrono. Three important churches are located in the center of town. Santa Maria del Palacio (12th to 17th century), San Bartolome (13/14th century), and Santa Maria la Redondo (15th century). All are worth a visit. |
We
should have either left Logrono earlier or later. The route is most scenic
as it passes along the 'Embalse de la Grajera', however, the uphill would
have been more bearable without the heat in the early afternoon.
At the refugio in Najera bicyclists are pilgrims second
class and have to wait until after 8:00 pm for a space assignment. We
choose to get a room at one of the Hostals in town so we can shower
off todays' dust and sweat.
