Day 14 |
Map is not to scale !
|
On
the next to our last day of cycling, we travel through the rolling countryside
of Galicia. I would have called this hilly a week ago, but after the Cebreiro
Pass I have a new paradigm for a hilly ride. One of the unique sights
are the 'herreos', they look like little buildings on stilts and are used
to store corn. Just about every house in this farming area has one.
|
Today
was the coldest day, I eventually ended up wearing all the clothes I had
brought. Layering is the way to go!
At the refugio in Ligonde, Jeff got to take out his new tire tool for the first time to help fix someone elses flat. |
We
had stopped just to tour this new refugio and warm up with some 'cafe
con leche' when someone else had a mishap. We were very fortunate, other
then a broken chain during the first week, we had no mechanical problems
along the way. We did notice that just about every medium size town sported
a bicycle shop with modern components in the window.
