Land Between
the Lakes is a National Recreation Area. we stoped at the visitor's centor
for a map and information. Looking at the hills and the distance, we figured
we would just make it for the 2 pm planetarium show. It was well worth
the stop, we learned about the night skies and we were looking forward
to observing Mars tonight. |

After pitching
our tent at the Wranglers Campground, we took showers and had humongous
burgers at the snackbar. And then the storm arrived. We never did see
Mars because we dared not stick our heads out from the tent in the relentless
downpour. Thanks Yoshu for telling us about using M&M's to play checkers
when camping! |

In the morning
we hung our tent from the clothesline to dry while we had breakfast. Cycling
to the 1850's Homestead and chatting with the guides about 'life in the
good ole days' was fun. A group of teenaged schoolchildren couldn't believe
we had ridden our bicycles this far. "Don't you own a car?"
and "Did you really ride 50 miles in one day?" they asked us.
