It was a cloudy, overcast day, so we decided to make a short hike to Bischofswiesen and return to Berchtesgaden for the local mardi gras activities in the afternon. |

| One of the fun things we watched were the wheelbarrow races. Dressed in costumes, the participants raced along an obstacle course and performed various 'skills' such as downing a shot of 'schnapps', sawing a log, and hammering a nail into a board. | |||
